We’re proud to introduce the people behind the depot, whose expertise and local knowledge help keep homes heated and businesses moving every day.
Denise McElvenny –
Sales Manager for the North East
With 28 years of sales management experience across the oil, media and call centre industries, Denise McElvenny brings extensive commercial knowledge and a strongly customer-focused approach to the Middlesbrough depot. Well known across the North East, she is passionate about building lasting relationships and creating a memorable experience for every customer.
Denise’s background spans sales leadership, marketing and team training, supported by ACAS certificates in managing people. During her career, she has helped customers from a wide range of sectors achieve their goals and has trained sales teams to deliver exceptional service. She also launched a portfolio of magazines in South Africa which are still going strong today.
Away from work, Denise enjoys keeping active and spending time with her family. She also admits to having one unexpected fear: birds.
Geoff Hinds –
Business Development Manager
With more than 20 years of experience in the fuel industry, Geoff Hinds brings a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise to the Middlesbrough depot. Throughout his career, he has developed strong customer relationships and a deep understanding of the fuel sector, helping businesses find reliable and cost-effective solutions.
Geoff’s expertise spans account management, customer relations, logistics and fuel purchasing, allowing him to support customers across a wide range of industries. His approach is built on understanding each customer’s unique requirements and delivering solutions that help their operations run smoothly.
Outside of work, Geoff is a passionate Hartlepool United supporter and season ticket holder. He also enjoys walking his dog on the Lake District fells and attending comedy and music gigs.
Martiens Potgieter –
Field Sales Representative
Martiens Potgieter brings a diverse background to the Middlesbrough team, with experience spanning logistics, fuel trading, farm management, tourism and project management. His broad knowledge enables him to support customers across agricultural and commercial sectors with practical, tailored solutions.
Specialising in supply chain management, logistics and energy transitions, Martiens works closely with customers to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and support their long-term goals. His expertise in net-zero planning and cost optimisation helps businesses navigate an evolving energy landscape with confidence.
Originally from Namibia, Martiens was raised around cattle and game farms and speaks three languages: English, Afrikaans and German. Away from work, he is a keen rugby fan and enjoys keeping up with the latest developments across the energy sector.
Nicole Potgieter –
Sales Administrator
As Sales Administrator at our Middlesbrough depot, Nicole Potgieter plays an important role in supporting customers and ensuring day-to-day operations run efficiently. With experience across customer service, logistics and account management, she is dedicated to delivering a smooth and professional customer experience.
Nicole’s career includes roles in the fuel industry, customer service and travel, giving her a diverse skillset and a customer-first approach. Her strong organisational skills and attention to detail help keep the depot running effectively while supporting both businesses and domestic customers.
Originally from Namibia, Nicole also speaks English, German and Afrikaans. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and was previously a competitive horse rider and riding instructor.
