At OilMaxx, we recognize the importance of investing where it matters most to our customers as we expand our operations from Immingham.
We’re excited to announce the addition of four Volvo FE 6×2 rigid tankers to our fleet for 2022, marking a £1.2m investment for Oilfast Group.
The new tankers at OilMaxx in Immingham deliver heating oil, bulk fuels, HVO, and AdBlue® nationwide.
The Volvo Build Process
The tank-building process begins with shipping Volvo FE chassis to Emco Wheaton in Margate, England. Then the team attach new metering equipment before transporting it to Spain.
After arriving in Spain, the team at Cobo spend several weeks installing the chassis and tanker together. Due to the specialist nature of the procedure, this process can take weeks to perfect and have the tankers shipped back to the UK.
The tankers upon completion will be shipped to Scotland for the final detailing and branding. Our team partners with Ecosse Signs to keep our tanker’s decal fresh and recognizable in the communities we serve.
The Specs
Each six-wheel tanker has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 26 tonnes, giving it a maximum carrying capacity of 17,500 litres. Our tankers have five compartments to meet the diverse fuel delivery needs of our broad customer base.
Safety and efficiency are paramount with every delivery, which is why all vehicles come equipped with three key features:
- Overfill protection
- Electrical isolation
- Earthing & vapour recovery
