One product that could help prevent theft is the Atkinson Locking Filler Cap. This product is available for £56.50 (excluding VAT). The locking cap is made from solid aluminium and has a hardened steel locking elbow and a vertical brass screw, making forced entry via these access points complicated and increasing tank security.

Exocet Diesel Defender

Exocet Diesel Defender is a popular way to prevent fuel theft since the rebated fuel changes. As a result, the stored fuel now appears identical to that bought for personal use and puts stocks of white diesel at a higher risk of theft.

Exocet ®Diesel Defender is a liquid anti-theft marker dye for UK non-rebated fuel (White Diesel or DERV). The liquid blue dye will colour white diesel to produce green fuel and act as a deterrent to thieves. Tank stickers can be supplied to advertise that the fuel has been dyed to prevent theft.

How does dyeing fuel help prevent fuel theft? Diesel Defender is a deterrent as the Police can quickly identify if fuel is stolen. Criminals will be forced to consider whether it’s worth stealing fuel that is protected and easily identifiable; it also makes the fuel more difficult to sell.
